Killegar Festival

Killegar belonged to the late Lord Kilbracken and is the family home of the Godleys. It is described by current resident Sue, Lady Kilbracken as ‘a jewel in the heart of Leitrim’. It is the last ‘Big House’ in the county still lived in by the descendants of the family who built it over two hundred years ago and one of very few left in Ireland. Lady Sue lives at Killegar with her son, Sean Godley who is the sixth generation Godley to call Killegar home.

Lady Sue is hosting this festival in order to raise funds for the ‘Save Killegar Campaign’, which was set up after Lord Kilbracken died in August 2006. Coming to the Killegar Festival is your chance to do your bit to save a unique piece of Irish heritage while having a fun time in what promises to be a vibrant atmosphere.

In keeping with the best traditions of rock festivals, this is an open air gig so feel free to bring seating, blankets, picnics and your own booze.

South African Steve will be doing his special BBQ and burgers and there will be fortune telling available for those daring enough to want to look into the future
